This year's theme was Museum @12627 "The Mystery of God's Great Plan" I was the "unofficial photographer," but that's okay, I had so much fun!! So I took some of pictures that I had taken and make them into a slide show complete with music. Enjoy the pictures, although it doesn't really capture just how much fun was had by all.

Make an on-line slide show at www.OneTrueMedia.com

Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269571741997937275.post-59456491960335742972009-08-05T12:39:00.003-04:002009-08-05T12:44:14.927-04:00From My Front Porch

This week's picture is a cool picture that I took of the moon.. The summer is almost over and wow what a fun summer it has been for my kids! Between Honor Guard, church camp, boy scout camp and the various church activities, the kids have been keeping busy, which is great for me, as I'm not playing referee all the time!!

All 3 attended church camp this summer, this was the first time for all. Wow, I love this camp, and they all had a blast. Water's Edge. This is the only picture I have, maybe I'll get my daughter's camera and see what kind of pictures she has on there.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyJCibNGl1Kv1fx7Sr3iQsfkWWToOc-oBjduMaou0U3zgHEHuNWbEGR8SWNJMpWhB-9tEhWN_MsOILxB9yCmjO0MJlNCqTfq1dAuPcNJNvwCXDBMBCNSTxiegT0Gcw8-p53xJp88wJq07y/s320/watersedge.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366109039736738130" />

This is Dustin and Steven with Harrison. Harrison is the drummer in a band called All Things New. This band is a group of students from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois. They tour Nazarene church camps, spending time with the kids, singing and praising God.

The boys also went to Camp Tapico, a boy scout camp for the 2nd year in a row. A week with all boys camping out and doing cool stuff, yeah, they had fun !

Nicole attended a lacrosse camp at Michigan State University. She learned some new stuff and hopefully it will help her this coming spring when she plays for our school's team !

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmgU5e0vXt4MSvJjBW9HjQIaAmimsst8Qm3FLHm3miCwi2c-krWGkA3bHv5MhAC9kv0Cwe64PLGHJIt5YfwnCusvItiBAX_jwR7ZCRDCKAJI7WLB5ofR3FaLgWVguvpk_zMcr4RaW9lRpP/s320/080109+004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366111646020319634" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8D-tdLntfpWBVNQV9q0AbCXDPDpilpkdCjxBw6jsAPgsHxiHRlufBWqDyp8HgNGwTXdIe0wxwCdHOhSzpHwW5cJcjsUmiVuRuWe0d91QqpQIQdzsx92z8Sr5X0E-EBunt1dMBybWOBF_P/s320/080109+008.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366111898983549266" />

I still have 2 more summer events to blog about, but I want to wait until Vacation Bible School is all over with so I can do a slide show of pictures from the week. Needless to say I LOVE everything farming and it doesn't hurt that I have tons of photo ops!

Today's picture was taken in the Spring, while the farmers were trying to get their crops in (this was a tough year for them, with all the rain we had). This is across the road from my house. I took a few different pictures, but I liked this one the best. I hope you enjoy seeing what I see from my front porch :)

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ9NtaLszQuxTABjyOubihUoeUhUilt3Yh7NZ1S8gItHgCTFQzEYiqXfo0E-jfiC56qpT4f_ccu8xmR5gXHeMZ1zn5TtGIFjCQxjBfhD9XxkzM2XaAi5x-z8PbxNHpx9STNf5g6ky6by-4/s320/summer+09+010.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364022713790860210" />Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269571741997937275.post-73533399257986036052009-07-21T10:55:00.005-04:002009-07-21T14:07:38.100-04:00My front porchYes, I know it's been a few months since my last post, but well it is summer time (well, the season is summer, not so sure considering the temperatures have been COLD !) and I will try to update what we have been doing.

But first, my best friend Rachel is starting a blog carnival called From my front porch. My daughter has participated in this program for 2 years (this summer will be her 3rd year) now. I think this is the most wonderful program! The girls in this program raise and lower the flags at Fort Mackinaw, answer tourist's questions and do any other service duties as needed. [Eight legs - eight games] A store owner threw an octopus on the rink before Game 1 of the finals and The Red Wings swept the series that year to win their 5th Stanley Cup. And so the tradition began of throwing an octopi on the ice at the beginning of a game - they believed the octopus was a "good luck" charm.

I would just like to say congrats to the ENTIRE Red Wings Organization, from the owner, Mike Ilitch, all the way down to the members of the team who were on the bench, not playing, but rooting their team on. Thanks for an awesome year, YOU GUYS ROCK !!!

Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269571741997937275.post-74079760247635869502008-06-01T18:38:00.000-04:002008-06-01T18:52:12.041-04:00Warm weather + Good friend = Good Times !Well, what a weekend this was! My bestest friend Rachel came down this weekend and to top it all off, the weather was nice, FINALLY! Friday afternoon, we took Rach's 3-year-old niece & my boys to the park. A blast was had by all ! Then Friday night, we went to see Fireworks. This was the weekend of my town's festival. Saturday, we got up early and took the kids to a pancake breakfast put on by my town's fire department (hey, not only yummy, but for a good cause too!) before the parade. Dang, the kids got a TON of candy from the parade (great just what they needed!!) After the parade we went down to the festivities (carnival rides, elephant ears, games) and all had a blast! After that we just came back home and chilled out and watched some TV. Specifically the Red Wings game!! Whoo hoo, they won so now they are up 3 games to 1 in the Stanley Cup finals !!! GO WINGS !! Monday night will be game 5 here in Michigan - HockeyTown USA !!!!! Rach went home today (boo hoo) so I guess it's back to realility again! Yuck!!! lol Oh, and I got the new WiiFit game; can't wait to try it out !!!!!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269571741997937275.post-20899190324718162212008-05-25T09:39:00.000-04:002008-05-25T15:44:26.597-04:003 more games....Is all the Detroit Red Wings need to win the Stanley Cup..a.k.a. Lord Stanley ! Three more games!! And, as history has shown, the team that wins Game 1 has gone on to win the Stanley Cup 53 times out of 68 !!!

The Red Wings are playing the Pittsburgh Penguins this year in what has been billed the most exciting and most anticipated Stanley Cup final in YEARS ! And I do literally mean YEARS !!! These two teams are the best of the best, the cream of the crop and both have the numbers to prove it. But can experience (Wings) win over youth (Penguins)?? I guess we'll see ?!?!

This is also the first ALL-AMERICAN line up since 2003. That's right.. we sent them Canadian teams back home crying like babies...hehehehehe

Our local paper couldn't have said it better. "Red Wings draw first blood in Stanley Cup finals" The score ? 4-0 !! That's right, we shut them down ! Whooo hoooo !!! It would have been 5-0, but they have some gay ass refs who are bound and determined to knock us down (goalie interferance my ass!!) I'm so geeked. That would be awesome if the Wings could bring back Lord Stanley to the Joe Louis Arena. Did I mention that this would be the Wings' ELEVNTH Stanley Cup Victory??? 11 Stanley Cups !!! The most in US franchise history !

Here's a little blup from the article in today's edition of The Flint Journal...

Sidney Crosby managed only a handful of shots.
Evgeni malkin coughed up the puck in his own end, leading to a goal.
Marc-Andre Fleury stumbled and fell coming onto the ice before the game.

Where were the high-flying Penguins who rolled to a 100-point season and a 12-2 playoff record?

The Detroit Red Wings can have that effect on a team. PERIOD!

In other SPORTS news... The Detroit Tigers bat Twins around in 19-3 victory !

Ahhhhh.... with the exception of the Detroit Pistons (who by the way were also playing their Eastern Confrence finals in Detroit).... Last night was a good night in Detroit...Hockey Town, U.S.A. !!!

GO WINGS !!!!!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1269571741997937275.post-57291728817127781552008-04-27T19:55:00.000-04:002008-04-27T20:11:16.049-04:00Chattanooga Lookouts
Is the minor league team for the Cincinnati Reds. April 18th and it is 76 degrees outside. In Michigan, no less! I love this weather and I have been waiting for it since... well... since October..LOL. I'm not even going to jinx myself. I love this weather and the best part? This is just a preview of the kind of weather I'm going to have on my vacation!!! What have I done to deserve this kind of madness?? I'm so glad that the weather is finally warming up (dare I even say that, knowing that tomorrow it could... *S*, I shudder at that thought!) and I can send the monkeys outside to go crazy and hopefully wear themselves out. But in a week, I will be heading south to TN for a LONG OVERDUE vacation. I'm hoping I'm not cursed and take the cooler weather with me.Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09772984694759566456noreply@blogger.com0
